It’s been an exciting year for us here at Sysomos. We started the year by once again becoming our own independent company. Since then we’ve been growing rapidly and have almost doubled our headcount. Over the summer we announced that we had acquired Expion, the enterprise-class social engagement platform. But 2015 isn’t finished yet and we have even more exciting news to tell you about…
Today we’re thrilled to announce that we have another new member of the Sysomos family, gazeMetrix!
gazeMetrix is an industry-leading image recognition and visual listening platform that helps brands and agencies capitalize on the opportunity presented by the increasingly visual social web. This acquisition will make Sysomos the first social intelligence platform to expand into the world of visual listening and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
Our CEO, Lindsay Sparks, believes that, “Most brands are missing crucial visual data about their customers on Twitter and Instagram, and few recognize that analyzing captions, comments and hashtags isn’t enough.”
Launched in 2012 through the renowned startup accelerator, 500 Startups, gazeMetrix has been at the forefront of visual analytics in social media using state-of-the-art algorithms and a proprietary virality detection method. The platform provides brands a window into how their logos are representing them and how customers are representing their brand.
Our CEO also added, “gazeMetrix already helps many leading global companies monitor visual brand or product mentions, understand those product mentions in context and, most importantly, understand the customer in context. We’re excited to bring this essential technology for the modern marketer to our 1,500 customers.”
In addition to its photo monitoring offering, gazeMetrix also seamlessly enables digital rights management, allowing brands to easily contact users who have posted photos. Brands can ask for permission to republish user-generated images on their own channels, turning that content into assets that work for the brand.
